Boulder Community Health Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund

March 25, 2020

Dear Friends of Boulder Community Health,

It’s hard to believe that it’s been approximately two weeks since the BCH team started working 24/7 to prepare for COVID-19. Since that time, the outpouring of generosity we have received from every corner of the community has been overwhelming. From donations to the BCH Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund to dropping off Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at Foothills Hospital, the support has been quick, tangible and heartwarming. On behalf of BCH, please know we are forever grateful!

We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on progress around the BCH Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund that launched one week ago:

  • $410,000 has been raised in support of the fund.
  • Made possible through the generosity of our matching donors Brad Feld and Amy Batchelor, Dan and Cindy Caruso, local anonymous family foundations, as well as 220+ individuals and organizations throughout Boulder County.

To date BCH staff have been supported in the following ways thanks to your generosity:

  • $250,000 allocated to the COVID-19 Employee Assistance Fund which will assist BCH Staff who are facing unanticipated financial challenges and provide an expansion of COVID-19 sick-pay benefits for all staff.
  • $100,000 toward the purchase of incremental Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for BCH Staff which includes items like masks, gloves, gowns and other equipment to protect against the transmission of COVID-19.

100% of all proceeds raised to this fund will continue to go directly to these areas of support:

  1. Support our most critical asset at BCH, our people.
You can help us assist those BCH staff who are facing unanticipated financial challenges (e.g., needing child care due to the closing of schools, financial hardship from a spouse/partner being out of work, etc.). We will provide the assistance they need by significantly expanding the depth and breadth of support provided by the BCH Employee Assistance Fund.

  2. Remove any barriers to providing the best treatment for COVID–19.
You can help by supporting BCH’s significant investment in our testing capability, expanding telehealth access, and planning for an increase in cases, including supply management, space capacity and flex training for our staff and physicians.

BCH leadership is confident in the ability and personal commitment of our clinical team to provide the best treatment and care to the community in the coming weeks. We need your help to support those caregivers. Please consider donating to our COVID-19 Response Fund.

I would like to donate to support BCH's COVID-19 Response Fund

Please do not hesitate to contact me at if you have any questions. In the meantime, thank you for your thoughtful consideration of making a donation or pledge at this time.

With deep respect and gratitude,
